We are delighted to announce the completion of our ground floor entrance refurbishment and accessibility improvements, made possible thanks to funding from Glusburn and Cross Hills Parish Council and the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The funding has enabled us to transform our entrance area, making it brighter, warmer and more welcoming, while delivering significant improvements to accessibility. Most notably, automatic doors have been installed on both sets of ground floor doors, making it much easier for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs and prams to enter and leave the building independently.
The results are fantastic and represent a significant improvement to the experience of our visitors.
The refurbishment has also included new flooring, lighting and decoration throughout the entrance area, together with new digital signage.
Working closely with our contractors, we developed a scheme designed to meet the needs of visitors with a wide range of accessibility requirements and additional needs. We were particularly pleased to work with leading lighting company Illuma to create a lighting scheme that complements the heritage of our building while significantly improving the quality and coverage of lighting throughout the space.
The new lighting highlights key architectural features while providing a more even, comfortable light, helping to create a warm and welcoming entrance for everyone.
