We need your help. Find out why, here
Wellbeing Café Befriender
Our Community Wellbeing Café is held in the recently refurbished Studio at Glusburn Community & Arts Centre. Set up with the help of Pioneer Projects and now working with Art-Star, supported by funding from Stronger Communities, the National Lottery Communities Fund and Bristol Street Motors (Vauxhall Keighley), our aim is to create a friendly and welcoming environment open to all, particularly suitable for those facing social isolation or issues with mental health. Within these relaxed groups, we will offer keyworker-led creative sessions and activities.
Can you help? We’re looking for individuals who can befriend participants and support them with creative activities. We'd like to hear from people who are good listeners, good at starting conversations, happy to partake in activities as well as helping with clearing up at the end of the session. Previous experience is not essential, support and training will be given.
The Café runs on Monday mornings from 10 am until 12 noon. We operate a flexible rota, so you won’t have to commit to helping every week and we can accommodate your other commitments.
Getting involved can be great fun and very rewarding. If you are friendly, caring and enjoy meeting new people, then please get in touch.
