SUMMARY:Sutton's Got Brass Community Brass Band
DESCRIPTION:Join Sutton’s Got Brass at Glusburn Institute\, a friendly community brass band founded in 2014 through a National Lottery grant\, welcoming players of all ages and abilities to learn together. \nSutton’s Got Brass was created to bring people together through music and make brass playing accessible to all. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or returning after a break\, you’ll find a friendly\, supportive environment where you can learn\, improve and enjoy making music as part of a group. \nThe band meets weekly\, offering regular rehearsals\, shared learning\, and the chance to perform as part of a lively community ensemble. \nOur Musical Director is cornet-player Matthew Loud. The band was originally inspired by Fiona Beetles\, then headteacher of Sutton-in-Craven Community Primary School\, whose vision helped bring the project to life. \nFind out more about our latest activities and performances on our Facebook page. \nAll ages and abilities welcome — just come along. \nWeekly\, Wednesdays from 7:30pm

SUMMARY:Sing Out! South Craven Community Choir
DESCRIPTION:Join Sing Out! South Craven\, a friendly\, mixed-voice adults community choir in Glusburn singing in rich 4-part harmony\, with no auditions\, no voice tests and no need to read music. \nSinging in a choir is one of the most uplifting and fun ways to make music\, and everything here is taught in a relaxed\, supportive way — using a mix of learning by ear\, lyrics and sheet music — so you can enjoy singing with confidence. \nWe sing a feel-good mix of pop favourites\, musical theatre and well-loved classics\, arranged in rich SATB harmony. Throughout the year\, we work towards exciting performance opportunities\, including two main concerts\, plus appearances at local festivals and charity events — sharing our music with the wider community. We even recorded the backing vocals to a charity single\, Who Cares — find out more and listen to the finished single on our news page: Local Choir Lends Voice to Care Workers’ Charity Single. \nLed by Musical Director Damian Oxborough\, rehearsals are informal\, sociable and full of energy\, with a real sense of fun\, teamwork and belonging. Whether you’re an experienced singer or completely new\, you’ll be warmly welcomed and supported. \nTo enquire about current spaces\, please contact Debby at debby@gicac.org.uk. Prospective new members will be invited to attend two free rehearsals before committing to join. \nWeekly\, Wednesdays from 7:30pm \n£12 per month\, first 2 sessions free \nYou can contact Damian via his Skipton Music Teacher website if you’re interested in private tuition in singing\, piano/keyboard or guitar. \nYou might also be interested in Social Singalong\, our free weekly singing for fun and wellbeing group.
