SUMMARY:Glusburn Lunch Club
DESCRIPTION:Join our Wednesday Lunch Club at Glusburn Institute\, a warm\, friendly two-course meal for older people from the village\, Cross Hills and nearby areas\, all about food\, friendship and warmth. \nLunch Club is perfect for those who live alone or are new to the area\, and we also warmly welcome individuals with dementia and their caregivers. Each week\, our cook prepares a delicious\, comforting two-course meal — think fish pie or sausage and mash — served with tea\, coffee and water. The menu varies weekly and follows traditional preferences\, though we’re not able to offer a choice of dishes on the day. \nTwo courses for £6\, paid in cash on arrival. \nBooking is essential\, especially for your first visit\, so please call ahead. If you enjoy yourself and would like to keep coming\, you’ll be added to our list of regulars — please just give at least 24 hours’ notice if you can’t make it. \nEnter at the front entrance — there are 3 steps up to the Baths Hall door\, or level access is available via the lift through the Ground Floor door (select ‘M’). A volunteer will greet you at the door\, check you in and take payment\, before showing you to a table and introducing you to others. \nGet involved \nLunch Club runs every week thanks to a team of committed volunteers who support our paid cook — greeting and seating diners\, taking payments\, serving food and drinks\, chatting with guests\, and helping with clearing up.
